Barnes & Noble, which is responsible for the popular Nook eBook reader, has now teamed up with Samsung to launch the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. This partnership will not bring any hardware changes to the tablet, but the device will be running a customized version of the B&N Nook UI. Customers will also be able to access the vast library of content from its store which includes magazines, newspapers as well as books.
We’re guessing there will be some exclusive titles on offer for B&N customers as well, which should be a bonus for getting the device. The Galaxy Tab 4 Nook will be available for purchase through Barnes & Noble retail outlets for somewhere close to $200 as the official pricing hasn’t been mentioned yet.
This partnership is very logical for both B&N and Samsung as the low end tablet segment needs significant attention. The deal is more crucial for Barnes & Noble as its eBook reader business is not exactly the most profitable at the moment. Will you be interested in a B&N branded Galaxy Tab 4 device?
