Huawei has several interesting plans for this year. Just last week the company launched its gethuawei.com website which allowed consumers in the US to order its unlocked phones starting with the Ascend Mate2 4G LTE. We also learned that the company is planning to release its upcoming flagship smartphone codenamed “Mulan” soon. While we still don’t have the complete information regarding this device we already have some high quality photos of it.
Photos of the Huawei Mulan, which will be called the Huawei Glory 6 or Honor 6 when out in the market, have just surfaced. The first thing that you will notice is that it has a very slim design. At the front is the 5-inch 1080p display that has a thin bezel and below this are the three capacitive buttons. There’s also a 5.1 MP camera that is capable of capable of Full HD video recording. From what we can see it looks like it sports a metal frame as what was suggested from previous leaks. At the back we can see the 13MP camera with LED flash and below that appears to be a fingerprint scanner.
This upcoming model is going to use the company developed Kirin 920 chipset which can outperform the current chipsets used by flagship models today such as the Snapdragon 801, Exynos 5420 and MediaTek MT6592. The Kirin 920 uses four Cortex-A15 cores and four Cortex-A7 cores in a big.Little configuration.
A recently leaked AnTuTu benchmark result showed that this device will be running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, come with an an ARM Mali-T624 GPU, and have 3GB of RAM.
From what we are seeing in the photos the design looks good and is even somewhat similar to the design of the Galaxy devices of Samsung. Since nothing is official yet then its best to take everything with a grain of salt.
Huawei is expected to officially announce the Mulan this coming June 24 which is just a few more days from now.
