LG launched two new midrange devices in February called the L90 and the L70. The latter is now believed to be making its way to American prepaid carrier Cricket Wireless if a new leak is to be believed. There are no details available on the precise launch date of the smartphone or the pricing, but the leaking out of a press render is indicative that a release is right around the corner.
The LG L70 features a 4.5 inch WVGA display, a 5-megapixel camera on the back, a 1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragon 200 chipset, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and a 2,100 mAh battery. The smartphone is clearly not the best in terms of hardware, but Cricket will look to make the most of it with its low pricing.
The LG L70 is widely available across the globe and has seen great success in emerging markets. The company will hope the same when the device breaks cover via Cricket Wireless. T-Mobile’s subsidiary MetroPCS recently bought the handset to its lineup as well, so it’s certainly not new to the American shores.
