LG G3 available for purchase in the UK ahead of global rollout

LG recently announced that the LG G3 would be rolling out to markets outside South Korea from June 27th, but retailers and carriers in the UK have jumped the gun and are selling the QHD screen device from today itself. The G3 is available from Carphone Warehouse, Three and O2, with pricing starting at £479.95, and with Three offering a £70 price cut on the LG G Watch for those who buy the phone and smartwatch together.

As a refresher, the LG G3 sports a 5.5-inch QHD (2560×1440) display, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus sensor, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, a 3,000 mAh battery, 1W speaker on the back, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the latest version of LG’s Optimus UI and features like Knock Code and a user adjustable keyboard.

Unfortunately, there’s still no word on when the G3 is coming to the US, though we expect to get that detail once the phone launches in markets around the world over the next week or so.

  1. So it seems as if the UK has missed out on the more powerful 3GB (32GB of on-board storage) version.
    Need to ask why?
Is it only South Korea that gets this and the rest of the world only has access to 2GB of ram, which is so last
    year on flagship devices?
If this is the case….I’ll wait for the Oppo or see what happens with Samsung’s Note 4.
