The Sony Xperia Z2a was revealed a couple of days ago, although the company refrained from providing any details on the hardware. But that mystery has been solved now with the hardware specs of the smartphone out in the open. Turns out, the Xperia Z2a is nothing but a slightly smaller variant of the Xperia Z2 and with a plastic body.
The handset comes with a 5-inch 1080p Triluminos display, the 20.7-megapixel Sony G Lens camera on the back, a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, a 3,000 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The smartphone is water resistant like the Xperia Z2, so it’s not too dissimilar from the recently launched Sony flagship.
The handset is expected to make its way to Taiwan in July with no word on the global availability yet. However, it is being said that the smartphone might remain limited to Asian markets, which is unfortunate as it certainly has the potential to succeed globally.
