CatB15Q Rugged Android Smartphone To Be Available Globally This Summer

Caterpillar is a company known for releasing some of the toughest Android smartphones out in the market. Traditionally, the most of the company’s products are only available in the US market however its upcoming Cat B15Q rugged Android smartphone will become available in the global market. This device is designed to cope up with the demands of a hard working consumer.

According to Oliver Schulte, COO of Cat phones, “With the Cat B15Q we have taken consumer feedback on board from its predecessor and added, for example, a faster processor and improved imaging capabilities. This is the first rugged handset available globally to support Android’s KitKat so users no longer need to choose between smartphone durability and the latest Android features. The B15Q is a key milestone to Cat phones becoming the number one global rugged device vendor by 2015.”

The Cat B15Q makes use of a quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM that allows for a smooth end user experience. It runs straight out of the box with Android 4.4 KitKat which means that it has access to all of the latest features found in KitKat.

The main feature of this device is its durability. Caterpillar has made sure that this model is able to survive stormy weather or drops from as high as 1.8 meters without any damage. It is IP67 certified which means it has been tested to survive being submerged under 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. It also has a Military Standard 810G certification which tests the device for shock and drop, temperature, and category 4 vibrations. Consumers working in tough environments will definitely welcome this device.

Aside from being a survivor the Cat B15Q also has several other outstanding features which include a high quality audio sound due to its use of Waves Audio technology, a 16.3 hour talk time, and access to over a million apps available at the Google Play Store.
