Sprint will start rolling out the Android 4.4 update to the Samsung Galaxy S3 starting today. The update changes the software version to L710VPUCND8 and is relatively big as far as size is concerned, so make sure you’re on a WiFi connection before downloading the update. It’s good to see that the device is still supported despite being two years old, which is a Samsung promise made some time ago.
As with any update rollout, this might not appear right away and might take a couple of days to reach all compatible handsets. But if you’re impatient to get the update, make sure you hit the Settings on the smartphone to check if it’s available.
Sprint’s support page mentions that the update will start rolling out today although there’s no update changelog available as of yet. The rollout of an update on the Sprint variant should technically mean that other carrier variants will get the update soon, although they could take their sweet time to send it out.
