A couple of retailers in Finland have inadvertently revealed the pricing of the HTC One Mini 2, even though it’s yet to be released. This appears to be a placeholder for what’s to come, so the prices might change at launch. The pricing mentioned here is €522.90 and €521.70 which is approximately $725, so it’s certainly not going to be cheap.
The smartphone is expected to feature a similar design as the HTC One M8, but packing midrange hardware. The handset is expected to sport a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset, a 4.5 inch 720p display, a 13-megapixel camera on the back and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
Given that mini devices are in trend right now with Samsung expected to launch the Galaxy S5 Mini in the coming weeks, the launch of HTC’s own mini device seems logical. However, manufacturers haven’t quite gotten their formula right as far as hardware is concerned. Perhaps they should take a leaf or two from Sony’s books which has launched very capable mini device for the Xperia Z1.
