Evleaks has just leaked out the alleged press render of the successor to the HTC J Butterfly from 2012, carrying the codename ‘HTC B2’. The source hasn’t shed light on the hardware of the smartphone or the release date, but it’s safe to assume that the handset will launch sometime soon given that a press image has leaked out.
The original J Butterfly was limited to Japan and was eventually launched in the U.S. via Verizon as the Droid DNA, so maybe we’ll see a similar arrangement this time around. But considering that HTC’s new flagship was recently announced and launched worldwide, this might just be a regional alternative to the One M8.
From the image available, we can ascertain that it has the front facing stereo speakers which is a standard with HTC devices from the past year or so. But will it be a flagship device or just another midrange offering? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, let us know what you think of the press image and if you have any possible theories.
