Portal and Half Life 2 officially available in the Play Store exclusively on the NVIDIA Shield

Half Life 2

Valve and NVIDIA have jointly launched Half Life 2 game in the Google Play Store, but as an official title for the NVIDIA Shield console. Another popular title from the developers, Portal, is also available for Shield users from the Play Store.

It’s good to see NVIDIA sticking to its promise of bringing popular PC titles to its handheld console and users can be assured that more such games are on their way. Portal and Half Life 2 cost $10 each, so they’re not going easy on your wallets, but considering that Valve is promising PC level graphics with the titles, the pricing is justified.

With the Shield now costing $199, the console will be a more desirable option to potential buyers. A refreshed model is expected to break cover later this year, but you can’t go wrong with a $200 console regardless of when you get it.
