Some new details have emerged on the rumored Pantech Vega Iron 2 handset. This new revelation from Korea suggests that the handset will not feature a Snapdragon 805 chipset as previously rumored, but sport the Snapdragon 801 SoC instead. This is no surprise considering that this chip is already being used by all the major Android OEMs.
The Vega Iron 2 is also expected to come with a 5.3 inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat and a 3,140 mAh battery. It is said that the device will only be 7.9mm thick, making it one slimmest handsets going around. All of this will be packed inside a metal enclosure, so it’s clearly going to be a premium device.
Pantech mentions that the handset will be announced soon, so we might not have to wait long to see the Vega Iron 2 in action. The company keeps its smartphones limited to South Korea, but given the high end hardware on offer, we won’t be surprised if the company brings the smartphone to other regions of the world as well.
