A lot of people are familiar with the two popular South Korean Android device manufacturers namely Samsung and LG. Unknown to many in the international market, a third mobile device manufacturer called Pantech also comes from that country. The company is usually overshadowed by the two giants however its latest flagship smartphone will definitely attract the attention of customers.
Pantech has officially announced its latest flagship smartphone called the Pantech Vega Iron 2 in South Korea. This device is the successor to the original Vega Iron and comes with several improvements. It’s got an interesting design that will definitely make it a head turner and it comes with high end specs that allow it to compete with most of the high end devices out in the market today.
The Pantech Vega Iron 2 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and has a 5.3-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. It uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with a clock speed of 2.3GHz, 3GB of RAM, and a 32GB of internal storage. Its other features include a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash, a 2MP front camera, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3,22mAh battery. The device has a dimension of 144.2 x 73.5 x 7.9mm while it weighs in at 152 grams.
In terms of physical design the device looks solid and slim. The back portion uses a faux leather finish which reminds customers of Samsung devices that use this type of finish. This similarity isn’t surprising at all since Samsung owns part of Pantech.
The Pantech Vega Iron 2 is expected to become available soon in the South Korea market. As far as international availability is concerned, since the first Vega Iron didn’t make it outside of South Korea we doubt if the company’s latest flagship will become available internationally.
