The Moto X is one of the best smartphones of 2013 and the addition of wooden back panels only made the smartphone better for American customers. And starting today, the handset can be bought with a Rosewood back cover among other wood options like Teak, Bamboo and Ebony. It seems like the Walnut finish Moto X has been removed from Moto Maker to accommodate for this new addition.
The cost is still the same and users will have to shell out an additional $25 for the wooden variant. Rosewood was one of the first wooden options shown off by Motorola last year, but is only making its way to Moto Maker now, which is a little unfortunate. Perhaps Motorola had some issues procuring the required materials for the particular variant.
We’re not sure the addition of newer back panels is wise at this point in time when a successor is nearly three months away. But if you’re considering a decent off contract phone for the best value, it’s hard to look past the Moto X.
Head over to the Moto Maker site below to get your own Moto X with a Rosewood back cover.
