Makers of the OnePlus One selling invites on eBay to raise funds for charity

OnePlus One Invite

If you’ve been following the OnePlus One closely, you would be aware that the makers of the smartphone have a strange invite only system where only customers with an invite can purchase the smartphone. These invites are pretty hard to come by as well, unless transferred by an already existing owner of the OnePlus One. However, the company is now offering an opportunity to purchase these invites over at eBay with the proceeds reportedly going to charity.

OnePlus has set up a poll for four charities – WWF,, UNICEF and 1% For The Planet with the results eventually deciding which charity the proceeds will go to. This listing on eBay is yet to go live as the charity is yet to be decided, but OnePlus will be reportedly giving away 15 invites to the highest bidder. The total cost could surpass $1,000, which is why the company is advising users to bid in groups so that one individual doesn’t have to do a bulk of the paying.

We’ll let you know when the listing goes live on eBay, but in the meanwhile, make sure you head over to the OnePlus One forums below to vote for the charity of your choice.
