With the LG G3 set for an announcement in less than 24 hours from now, we’re already seeing potential candidates for a competitor. This one comes from Lenovo and is known as the Vibe Z2 Pro. The smartphone, much like the LG G3, packs a Quad HD resolution display but in a 6 inch form factor and also comes with a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset, which is expected from a flagship device.
Given the top billing, we feel the Vibe Z2 Pro will be limited with regards to its availability. All hints point towards an initial China launch, but we can’t rule out a worldwide release either, especially considering that Lenovo is one of the OEMs with global ambitions.
The Vibe Z2 Pro will also feature a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and a 4,000 mAh battery for prolonged usage. The smartphone could be announced anytime soon by Lenovo given that it’s a flagship product and the company would want to nullify some of the buzz created by the launch of the LG G3.
In addition to Lenovo, the likes of Samsung and HTC are also said to be working on a premium flagship carrying a 2K resolution display. So it seems like we might be in for an exciting couple of months with plenty of new hardware to come.
