When HTC announced the One M8 a couple of months ago, it promised that the software features from Sense 6.0 will make its way to older devices as well. We saw the company sending out the UI update to the unlocked and Developer Edition models of last year’s HTC One M7 a few days ago, and today it’s the European variants of the One M7 which are reportedly getting the update.
HTC Source claims that users in Croatia, Romania, Finland, France, Slovakia, Albania, UK, Slovenia and Finland have been able to spot the update as of now, but more countries in the region should get the update in the coming days. But since the update is always rolled out in batches, some users might have to wait a couple of days before getting the notification.
If you’re using an European HTC One M7, make sure you check for an update manually by heading over to the Settings page and navigating to About Phone – Software Update – Check now.
With the update, users will see some major updates especially with apps like BlinkFeed and Gallery which are now available directly from the Play Store as well. This makes it easier for HTC to update them whenever necessary without having to issue a complete software update for minor changes.
