It seems to be raining KitKat lately, with a lot of devicess updated to the latest version of Android in the last few days. Soon, the Galaxy S4 on Verizon could also be making the chocolatey jump – according to a leaked document obtained by GSMArena, the carrier will start rolling out the major update to Samsung’s yesteryear flagship on May 2. Carriers like AT&T and Sprint have already released the update, and while Verizon is late to the party, it won’t be as late as it once used to be if it can stick to its internal deadline.
Once the update starts rolling out, it should only be a matter of time before it pops up on every Verizon Galaxy S4 in the wild. It should bring over the usual changes, including speedier and smoother performance, a camera shortcut on the lockscreen, wireless printing support, full-screen album art on lockscreen, white status bar icons, reduced memory consumption, and other minor improvements to improve the overall experience on the device. As always, we’ll be sure to let you know once the rollout begins.
