The HTC One M8 comes with a laundry list of new features (some useful, some gimmicky), and one of the most talked about functionality was an Extreme Power Saving Mode. Similar to Samsung’s Ultra Power Saving Mode, it disables most of the smart features of the device to preserve battery life, with HTC touting up to 15 hours of battery life on just 5 percent battery.
Sadly, this feature wasn’t available on the One M8 out of the box when it went up for sale, but HTC promised it would soon be arriving through a software update. Well, that software update is finally making its way to carrier variants of the company’s latest flagship, starting with the Sprint variant. The update brings the software version up to 1.54.651.8, and apart from the very useful power saving mode, also includes stability and call performance improvements.
The update should soon be popping up on Sprint’s HTC One M8, and will likely arrive on other carriers before the month is over.
