If you’re in Canada and are looking to pick up Sony’s latest flagship, you’ll have no option but to purchase the handset from Bell. The company has announced that it has gotten exclusive rights to sell the Xperia Z2 on Canadian soil, and has confirmed that the device will be made available sometime in May.
Unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, the Xperia Z2 is an incremental upgrade over the Xperia Z1, sporting a larger, higher-quality 5.2-inch screen, a bigger 3,200 mAh battery, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM, 4K video capture, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. It’s water- and dust-proof like the Z1, and comes with software features such as double tap to wake and smart backlight (similar to Samsung’s Smart Stay.) It also brings over the 20-megapixel G Lens camera from its predecessor, but with improved image quality and faster autofocus thanks to the newer processor.
Pricing and an exact launch date are currently unknown, though you can sign up at the source link to be notified when Bell starts stocking the device and to get a chance to win a free Xperia Z2.
