Sony Xperia Z Hardware To Get Android 4.4 KitKat In May

Xperia ZR

Last month, Sony announced that they would update select older Xperia Z smartphones and tablets sometime in Q2 2014 to Android 4.4 KitKat. Today they have provided an update to their schedule and it won’t be slipping.

Today Sony has updated their product pages for the Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Xperia Tablet Z devices. According to the updated schedule, Sony will start to roll out KitKat out to these devices sometime in May. It probably won’t be towards the beginning of the month, so look for it towards the end of next month.

As you can see, even though these devices have been around for awhile, Sony is still going to update them anyway. Readers with these devices, are you excited that your device will be getting KitKat soon?
