OnePlus CEO Peter Lau announced through his Facebook page that the upcoming OnePlus One Android smartphone will be priced under €350 in Europe. This device which is expected to be unveiled this coming April 23 was also previously revealed to cost as little as $400 when released in the U.S. market. That’s a huge price difference (€350 converts to around $479.75) which can be blamed on the taxes but is still low considering the specs of the device.
For those who don’t know yet the OnePlus One smartphone runs on a custom version of CyanogenMod called CyanogenMod 11S. The only thing we know so far about this is that it is based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and might be different from CyanogenMod 11.
In terms of hardware specs this device has a 5.5-inch IPS display with a 1080p resolution and uses a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor. Its other features include a 13MP rear camera, a choice between 16GB or 64GB of internal storage, and a battery capacity of 3100mAh. The device will also have a hands-free voice control feature similar to that of the Moto X and will have removable backs made of different materials such as bamboo, denim, and other materials.
Just recently the company posted a photo on its Facebook page comparing the OnePlus One with the HTC One M8. The photo basically shows the One beating the M8 in every aspect while being priced less than $400 compared to the $600 price tag of the HTC One M8.
Other details of this device have been successfully kept under wraps by the company. This means that we will get to know everything about it once the unveiling date arrives. As far as it release date is concerned we are pretty sure that it will follow soon after April 23.
