Motorola DROID RAZR HD, DROID RAZR M KitKat Upgrade Arriving Soon

Owners of the Motorola Droid RAZR HD and the DROID RAZR M should be pleased to hear that a KitKat upgrade is coming for both devices. No less than Motorola Mobility’s Senior Director of Software Product Management David Schuster announced through his Google+ page that the update will be arriving soon.

Schuster said that “A number of people have been asking me about that status of the KitKat upgrade for the 2012 DROID family (HD and M). I am happy to report that we have made great progress and it should only be a few more weeks until you guys can enjoy it. So stay tuned…”

Both devices were released around September of 2012 which means that under a two year contract there’s still around 5 months left. This might be the last official update that these models will be having as it will reach its two year mark.

The DROID RAZR HD was once the flagship smartphone of Motorola. It sports a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD 720p display and initially launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Despite being nearly two years old the DROID RAZR HD still has respectable specifications and can even match provide an even match with current mid-range models.

The DROID RAZR M on the other hand has similar specifications and features as the DROID RAZR HD save for its smaller 4.3-inch display.
