The ability for consumers to customize the back cover on the Moto X was one of the selling points of Motorola’s first true flagship device under Google’s ownership. With the Moto X+1, the upcoming successor to the Moto X, the company’s Moto Maker tool could get an option to choose a leather back plate, according to notorious leakster evleaks.
evleaks has leaked a list of back panel options that Motorola will apparently provide with the Moto X+1. These will include a leather finish in four colors (black, red, grey and blue), Teak, Bamboo, Rosewood, and Ebony in wood options, and will also be categorized into cool (Navy, Turquoise, Olive, Royal Blue, Dark Teal), neutral (Slate, Purple, Smoke, Black, Chalk), and warm (Red, Orange, Lemon Lime, Violet, Crimson, Raspberry, Cabernet) colors. That’s a pretty extensive list of choices for the back panel, and the leather variant could be a major attention grabber on the second-generation Moto X. Here’s hoping the leather option is available right from day one, and that Motorola is able to bring over its Moto Maker to more countries when the Moto X launches in summer this year.
