LG announced at the MWC 2014 event their new L Series III devices which will replace last year’s L Series II models. The company is marketing these as mid-range devices that have great features and are priced competitively. The lineup consists of the 3.5-inch L40, 4.5-inch L70, and the 4.7-inch L90. We already reported that the L90 will be coming to T-Mobile this coming April 23 and it seems like the L70 will be headed to MetroPCS.
A leaked photo posted on the Twitter account of @evleaks shows the LG L70 with the MetroPCS branding on it. Aside from this a pdf file of the MetroPCS LG L70 (LG-MS323) is already available for download online from the LG website. These two factors indicate that the device will be coming to MetroPCS although the prepaid wireless service owned by T-Mobile hasn’t officially announced it yet.

The LG L70 is the middle child in the new L Series III line of smartphones. Its 4.5-inch display makes it easy to use with one hand and its use of Android 4.4 KitKat makes it work smoothly. One unique LG feature that this device has is the Knockcode security feature that allows a user to assign a pattern of taps to unlock it.
Based on its specs this device is clearly aimed at consumers who don’t want to spend a lot on an Android smartphone yet want a model that is capable of handling most of the daily tasks. It does not have LTE so don’t expect blazingly fast Internet speeds. It does however have 3G HSDPA which is a good speed when checking emails or updating social networks.
Since MetroPCS has not officially announced this device yet we still don’t have a release date or price. It should however be arriving on the networks soon. The price of this device is expected to be low. In Europe an unlocked L70 costs $250 while in China the price ranges from $160 to $170.
