LG has now mentioned on its website that the upcoming G Watch will feature an active display much like the Moto X. This feature will automatically turn on the display whenever a notification pops up without having to manually press the power button. It will be interesting to see if this will have an impact on the battery life of the device.
The Korean manufacturer has also clarified that the G Watch will be resistant to water and dust, so you can wear it even in the worst of weather conditions. The company further mentioned that the smartwatch will be available in Champagne Gold and Stealth Black color variants at launch, with no word on white model yet, which is slightly unconventional from LG.
We expect the smartwatch to break cover in the coming months across the globe. Motorola is also expected to launch its own smartwatch with the Moto 360, although it might not see a global release like the G Watch.
Android Wear will soon be supported by the likes of Samsung, HTC, ASUS and other manufacturers so we can expect to see plenty more smartwatches launching this year.
