The HTC One (M8) Mini has been rumored to launch soon with several leaks in the past revealing its existence. And today, a new leak has mentioned that the smartphone will break cover on Verizon Wireless in the U.S. It isn’t clear if the smartphone will remain an exclusive to the carrier, but it’s unlikely that HTC would follow the same strategy as it did with the recently launched flagship for a midrange device like this one.
The M8 Mini is expected to feature a 4.5 inch 720p display, a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 400 quad core SoC, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13-megapixel camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 6.0.
If these rumored specs are anything to go by, the M8 Mini won’t be anything like Sony’s Xperia Z1 Compact in terms of hardware and will merely borrow the name and design of the bigger sibling with a slightly underwhelming internal hardware. Reports have hinted that the HTC One (M8) Mini will be launched in May, so we might not have to wait long.
