It looks like update woes are to hit Samsung device owners in the US once again, as AT&T and Samsung have halted the rollout of the KitKat update for the Galaxy S4 Active, a rollout that commenced last week. We saw a similar thing happen with the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4 last year, and it seems neither Samsung nor AT&T have learned any lessons in the months that have since gone past.
“The 4.4 KitKat update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is temporarily unavailable,” reads AT&T’s website, though without a mention of what the reason is (in fact, I’m not sure we ever got an official reason with the problematic Android 4.3 updates last year either. Samsung gave a similarly vague statement to Android Police, so it looks like Galaxy S4 Active owners in the US have no choice but to wait for the rollout to begin again, and it will hopefully not cause any major problems for those who might have updated already.
