Huawei reportedly gearing up for American launch of the Ascend Mate 2 phablet

Huawei Ascend Mate 2

It seems like the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 could soon make its way to the U.S, despite the company exiting the market last year. The Chinese manufacturer has opened a website for the Ascend Mate 2 handset which should be available directly for American consumers, so make sure you keep an eye out as the handset breaks cover inevitably.

The Ascend Mate 2 is the company’s newest phablet which broke cover back in January featuring a 6.1 inch 720p display, a 13-megapixel camera sensor on the back with a 5-megapixel portrait camera, a 1.6 GHz quad core processor, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat with Huawei’s Emotion UI and a 4,050 mAh battery.

The handset is pretty well equipped in terms of hardware, but the company will have to spread the word in the U.S. if it wants its new phablet to succeed. Pricing is yet to be disclosed but we hope to know more in the coming days.

  1. I’m impressed by the stats. I had a Huawei phone back in the day but it was nothing special and certainly nothing like this. A five meg front-facing camera has to be one of the better front-facing cameras that I’ve seen yet.
