Google Now might soon be able to handle Timer queries as well

According to a new rumor, Google Now could soon be able to handle user queries to set a countdown timer. Users of the feature will know that in its current form, Google Now can only set an alarm when asked for a timer. This is particularly annoying if you want to see how much time you have left on the timer. It’s odd though that this feature is available on the default clock app but not on Google Now.

Android Police points out that Android 4.4 already has a system in place to accommodate this feature, so we might see it coming very soon to Android devices running Google Now.

Google recently added commands such as “play some music”, “take a picture” and “take a video”, so the addition of a countdown timer seems very trivial in comparison to these. Maybe we can see this with the upcoming Android 4.4.3 update? Only time will tell, but this is certainly a welcome addition.

  2. I didn’t realize Google Now didn’t do this already. I kind of assumed it did since you can set alarms. Either way, this’ll be awesome!
