Google Nexus 6 rumored to feature a fingerprint scanner

Google Nexus 6

According to a new rumor, the upcoming Nexus 6 smartphone from Google could come with a built-in fingerprint sensor. We’re suggesting you take this with a huge pinch of salt as this is only a rumor for now, but we’re guessing this stems from reports which indicated that the LG G3 would come with a fingerprint scanner when it launches later next month.

It is being said that Google is in touch with component suppliers directly, so it could be interesting to see how these rumors materialize. From a technical perspective, it seems unlikely that Google would take such a stand considering that there are third party apps which do the job, so there’s probably no need for dedicated hardware unless they’re working on an app on their own. But we can’t predict anything at this point as it’s too early in the day.

What do you think of this particular rumor? Could Google launch a device with a fingerprint scanner? Have your say below.
