UPDATE: Google has now made their offer official. You will be able to buy Google Glass on April 15th, as long as you are 18 or older and live in the US. The original story is below the video.

Google really wants people to use Glass. Currently if you want Google Glass, you need an invite from them or from a friend’s invite. Then after you accept the invite, you need to pay Google $1500 plus tax if applicable.

It looks like Google is going to slightly open up the program on April 15th, which is next Tuesday. According to a leaked slide from The Verge, starting at 6 AM PDT, anyone in the US will be able to buy Glass with no invite needed. And as a bonus, Google is going to include either a free frame or shade when you buy it.

Since its introduction in 2012, Google has been opening Glass up and there are rumors that a final public launch might happen later this year. But if you want a prototype, then you can get your chance on Tuesday.
