HTC launched the HTC One M8 in silver, gold and gray models last week. It has now come to light that the company is planning to launch a limited edition gold plated model of the handset as well, but exclusively in the Middle East. This was confirmed by HTC in Dubai earlier today where the smartphone was officially announced. This special edition variant will also be launched in several neighboring countries, apparently.
The standard variant of the smartphone will cost 2750 AED ($749) in Dubai and 2800 SAR ($747) in Saudi Arabia. Both regions will reportedly get the handset starting this Friday on the 4th of April. We’re guessing the customers will have to pay a premium for the gold plated model as the manufacturer is yet to give out pricing details for this variant. So don’t expect it to go easy on your wallets. HTC is also bringing some region specific content to the smartphone in a bid to woo more customers.
