Just hours after a new variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5 with a Quad HD display was spotted online, some leakster has managed to snap another different version that could only be the Galaxy S5 thanks to a huge camera feature at the back that looks a lot like that of the Galaxy S4. Interestingly, the second picture taken snaps a label that indicates this is a Samsung Galaxy K Zoom, showing that the Zoom line of Galaxy devices may be branching off to become something greater – perhaps as great as the Note series.
This variant of the Galaxy S5 will be expected to have a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor or the 1.3 GHz Samsung Exynos 5 Hexa processor. It will also boast of a 4.8 inch display with a HD resolution, 2 GB of RAM and it will come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. We had already learnt from rumors that were doing rounds earlier this week that there are various variants of the S5 and that the cameraphone or the Zoom version of the S5 would come with a 20 megapixels rear camera, a notable upgrade from the 16 megapixels of the standard S5.
Based on these images initially published by SimpleSite, the device we all know as the Galaxy S5 Zoom in reality is the first of its own line of the new Samsung Galaxy K series which could be defined by high end camera sensors, thinner design, compact and rigid rugged casing and better hidden camera lenses. The camera at the back of the pictured device is too conspicuous to consider it hidden, but the other features, including the faux leather back (kind of) and the engraving on the metal camera ring that shows a 10x optical zoom.
The standard version of the Galaxy S5 is not even on sale yet, but we are already seeing all kinds of S5s, but there hasn’t been any official word from Samsung though. For now, this is all we have.
