T-Mobile LG G2 finally getting the Android 4.4.2 OTA update

LG G2 KitKat

Earlier this week, the T-Mobile LG G2 got the Android 4.4 update, although not as a conventional OTA. Instead, users had to manually download and flash the update themselves. But if you have waited since then to get the OTA just to be safe, you’re in luck as the update is now making its way to G2 handsets across the country. The update is rolling out in batches, so it might not hit all devices at once, but rest assured it is on its way.

The Android 4.4 update on the T-Mobile LG G2 brings an array of changes compared to Android 4.3, including some much needed UI adjustments. To start with, the battery life of the smartphone will be upgraded substantially and users should be able to use the standard KnockOn unlock feature much better now. The changelog also claims that the device will run apps 17% faster than before, so it’s a pretty massive update in terms of functionality.

If the update notification hasn’t hit you yet, make sure you check for an update manually through the settings page. But if you have already received the update, make sure you drop us a line below and let us know what you think of it.
