Sprint Samsung Galaxy S5 Pre-Orders Starting At $0 Down Is Now Live

It’s undeniable that the hottest smartphone right now is Samsung’s upcoming flagship model, the Galaxy S5. This device which was unveilied at the MWC 2014 in Barcelona, Spain is headed to most of the major US based carriers. Sprint, the nation’s third largest carrier, has announced that starting today customers can already pre-order the device.

Sprint is offering the Samsung Galaxy S5 at $0 down and $27.09 monthly payments for 23 months and one month payment of $26.92. This can be availed of if purchased as part of a Framily Plan and only through actual Sprint stores. There is still no way of availing of this online as of the moment. Customers who will get this device at $0 down will eventually be paying a total of $649.99 in two years.

Alternatively, Sprint is also offering the Galaxy S5 for $199 after a $50 mail in rebate with a two year contract. Those who wish to purchase the device outright will have to pay $649.

Customers getting this device under the Sprint Framily Plan with Easy Pay will also be getting a free Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0.  This is a limited time offer and comes with activation on a data plan with two year contract.

David Owens, vice president of Product at Sprint, said that “Samsung Galaxy S 5 is exactly the type of device Sprint Spark and Sprint Family were designed for. Galaxy S 5 customers will be able to do more than ever with their smartphone, and they will appreciate the ability to use all three bands of 4G LTE wireless network spectrum available on the Sprint network for an enhanced LTE experience and won’t want to wait for a slow network to catch up while they’re enjoying the incredible features of this exciting device.”

Sprint will be releasing this device on April 11 and is available in Charcoal Black and Shimmery White. For those who will be pre-ordering the device the carrier announced that it will “make every effort to get it to you as soon as close to the April 11 launch as possible.”

  1. Zero Down payment yes, but what after that? I am pretty sure it will cost much more in the long run. And all for what? S5! No thanks.

  2. Great observation! The big thing I noticed here is that it says $0 down WITH approved credit. Unfortunately, most of America, after the past 13 years, has seen a drastic increase in economic pitfalls, making credit scores of every day Americans atrocious. That said, this deal will only apply to a small minority.

  3. This is the best news yet for Sprint customers. Far greater than any news on network expansions. Oh wait…Sprint never has news on that. 🙁

  4. Since when is anything zero down? That is the first thing that caught my eye, in this economic pinch most places want to at least get a few bucks from you early on. How heavy are the contracts they try to up-sell you is my question.
