The Sprint branded HTC One Max phablet is now getting the Android 4.4.2 update. The phablet was launched late last year with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, so this update is quite significant. As for the changes on board, users can expect a change in UI as well as several Android specific upgrades such as the change in status bar icons, support for cloud printing etc. The update also carries the usual suite of bug fixes and security enhancements. The software version will change to 2.09.651.1 post the update.
Make sure you’re on a unlimited data connection or WiFi before downloading the update as it is close to 344MB in size. The notification should pop up any time now, but if it hasn’t, make sure you head over to the Settings page and check for an update there manually.
The One Max on Sprint hasn’t been one of the most popular devices from HTC partly due to the presence of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which is the widely preferred phablet in the market.
