Samsung SM-G310 with Android 4.4.2 makes its way to the FCC

Samsung Logo

A new Samsung smartphone has just made its way to the FCC sporting Android 4.4.2 and a relatively midrange hardware. Although not everything about the handset is known at the moment, the listing reveals that the device will feature a 4 inch display and a 1,500 mAh battery, which doesn’t translate to anything powerful.

Perhaps this is a new variant of Samsung’s vast midrange smartphone lineup or maybe it is a new device altogether. The fact that it’s running Android 4.4.2 tells us that it will be no slouch as far as usability is concerned, since KitKat has been specifically designed keeping these low end devices in mind.

There’s no additional information available on this smartphone at the moment, but it doesn’t take a genius to guess that it will launch in developing countries with a low price tag. While all the focus is firmly set on Samsung’s flagship devices, its low end offerings account for quite a large sum of its Android marketshare. So the company will look to launch plenty more smartphones like this in the coming months.
