Both versions will be available starting March 20 in China.

What we are interested in is the 2K version of the device which will be available in the international market. Aside from its impressive display one of its other outstanding features is the way it captures photos. It was previously reported that the device is able to capture photos that seems to be taken from a 50MP camera. Now that the device has been officially announced we know that it really does take 50MP photos. But how is this possible when it is only using a 13MP camera?

The answer to this is that it uses software instead of hardware to achieve the results. The Oppo Find 7 uses an image signal processor called the Pure Image 2.0. When a person takes a photo the device takes 10 consecutive shots quickly. Four of the best shots will then be combined together to create a 50MP “Super Zoom” photo. A single 8,160 x 6,120 pixel photo that is a combination of four shots will usually have a size of 10MB.

Other key features of the camera include 4K video recording at 30 fps, long exposure for up to 32 seconds, slow-motion video at up to 100 fps, HDR-capable GIF creation and RAW mode.

  1. Having written for Android websites before, I’ve heard about Oppo, and they’ve been doing some great things since the Find 5. It’s definitely a company worth taking a deeper look at!

  2. As much as I would love an Oppo Find 7, I am actually really enjoying the iPhone. However, I’m slightly afraid the Find 7 will win my heart, and then I won’t have enough money to get it. ūüėõ

  3. Yes, it’s not too mainstream in the US. But there is the N1 and the Find 5 in the US I guess. You can buy them in the US for sure. Because I know people who have. Anyway, Oppo’s phones are really great, especially the CyanogenMod versions.

  4. I don’t know with you but I haven’t heard about Oppo until I read this article today. Well, it’s probably because it’s not that mainstream in the US.
It’s specs looks cool for a smartphone though.

  5. Now that Oppo has an official Oppo India YouTube channel and is making commercials which are up to 3 mins long with high profile Bollywood celebrities, I guess the company will release the Oppo Find 7 here as well. And we will be waiting for it.
