Makers of the OnePlus One have officially announced that the much awaited smartphone will be unveiled on the 23rd of April. The company hasn’t detailed as to where the event will be held, but it’s safe to assume that it will have a livestream for the global audience to follow the happenings.
The manufacturer has already spilled the beans on several aspects of its hardware, so users know what to expect from the event. The handset will feature a 5.5 inch 1080p display panel combined by a quad core Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel camera and a 3,100 mAh battery. The smartphone will reportedly feature Android 4.4 KitKat with some customization from the CyanogenMod team.
The makers have promised that the handset would cost under $500 or even $400 during launch, which could be crucial if the smartphone is to succeed in the market. The OnePlus One will not remain a China only affair, which is one of the main reasons why it has sparked significant interest from the global customers. There’s still about a month of waiting to do for the announcement of the handset, so we hope to learn more along the way.
