We know that a Google branded smartwatch is incoming, but not quite sure when or what it would be like. But Evleaks appears to have gathered some early information on the specs of this alleged smartwatch. According to the popular Twitter source, the smartwatch will feature a 1.65 inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 280 x 280 pixels. It is also rumored to pack 4GB of internal storage, 512MB of RAM and a yet to be decided processor.
This is enough information to go with at this point as there was practically nothing known about this device prior to this. We’re assuming these details have been leaked through LG’s internal sources as the Korean manufacturer is said to be in the running to make this new device for Google.
Compatibility wise, we’re expecting a wide range of devices to be supported as this is coming straight from Google. The Mountain View company recently announced the arrival of the Android Wearables SDK which would allow developers to build apps and test out the upcoming wearable OS. While the definition of a wearable doesn’t necessarily end with a smartwatch, Google is expected to have its eyes set on this first with other devices possibly following later.
