The Samsung Galaxy S5 is known for its various features such as the heart rate monitor and the fingerprint scanner. But it is also known for its raw internal hardware like the processor, as with any other modern flagship. However, the smartphone is going to be launched in two different variants. While we know about the Snapdragon 801 variant already, there’s not a lot known about the octa core Exynos 5422 model which will break cover in global markets.
But now, GFXBench has shed light on the scores of this variant as well, revealing moderate performance. The results page reveals a CPU clock speed of 1.3 GHz, which is a bit odd as Samsung is marketing the octa core chip on the Galaxy S5 with a clock speed of 2.1 GHz. So it is possible that Samsung has only taken the four low power cores into account (Cortex-A7) on this particular variant of the smartphone. The model number used here is SM-G900H.
Another interesting bit of information here is that the display size is mentioned as 5.2 inches with 1080p resolution, while the Galaxy S5 features a 5.1 inch display. So it’s possible that Samsung could be testing this octa core chip on several display configurations.
