The Qualcomm Toq smartwatch is now cheaper by up to $100, which comes coincidentally after the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo announcement. This new price cut effectively brings the price down to $249.99, which is still quite a lot compared to the Pebble and about the same price as the newly launched Pebble Steel. But unlike the Pebble or the Pebble Steel, the Qualcomm Toq runs a Mirasol color display which takes less power to run, hence returns a battery backup of about 2-3 days.
Like Pebble, the smartwatch is compatible with any Android smartphone as long as it’s running Android 4.0.3 and up, so compatibility is not a concern at all. Users can basically do anything and everything that they would do in a conventional smartwatch, so the Toq is a very capable device in terms of functionality. And the price drop certainly makes this an attractive buy, considering that it powers a color display and is compatible with a range of devices at the same time. The limited edition white variant appears to be in stock as well, which is an added bonus.
