@evleaks on Twitter has revealed that the HTC One successor (known as the HTC M8) will break cover in late March. This is in contrast to what was previously believed to be a late February or MWC time launch for the smartphone. Considering that the HTC One was launched in February last year, it was safe to assume that the successor will be launched around the same time, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is also rumored to break cover at around the same time, so it will be interesting to see how the market reacts when two rival smartphones are launched side by side.
Despite launching in February last year, HTC faced some manufacturing delays which meant that the smartphone wasn’t available for a couple of months. The Taiwanese manufacturer will hope these problems don’t surface with the HTC M8 as scheduling the launch is quite crucial for the success of a smartphone.
