The HTC Desire 8 leaked out in a press image recently, which confirmed its existence. We also got bits and pieces of information on its hardware, but nothing substantial. Today, Evleaks has given us complete clarity on the specs sheet of the smartphone, reaffirming that this is indeed a midrange device.
To begin with, the smartphone is said to feature a 5.5 inch 720p display, just as rumored. Powering the smartphone will be a quad core 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 400 SoC accompanied by 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of storage with microSD support and Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0. The smartphone is also claimed to be sporting a 13 megapixel camera on the back with a 5 megapixel front camera. Evleaks also claims that the smartphone will feature HTC’s proprietary BoomSound speakers in the front and come in white, red, black, yellow and purple color variants.
We expect the handset to be unveiled next week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where HTC is also rumored to show off its new smartwatch. So it seems like we’re in for a very eventful week as a flurry of devices are expected to be launched by the end of February.
