Hot on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy S5 announcement last evening, three of the four major American carriers have announced the availability of the smartphone in the coming months. AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint have officially announced the availability of the new Samsung flagship along with the two new Tizen based Gear 2 and Gear Fit smartwatches. T-Mobile has announced that its subsidiary, MetroPCS will also sell the smartphone during its initial release in the U.S.
While AT&T has claimed that it will provide availability and pricing details at a later date, T-Mobile, MetroPCS and Sprint have confirmed that the smartphone will start landing in its stores from April, which is when Samsung plans to begin the massive global rollout as well. T-Mobile is offering a free S-View flip cover and a chance to win the Galaxy S5 for free to users who pre-register the smartphone. Sprint is also offering the opportunity to win a free Galaxy S5 and/or a $100 Visa gift card. We’re yet to hear about Verizon’s plans to launch the smartphone, but given that it is one of the country’s largest carriers, we expect to have a word or two soon.
