Reports coming out of Korea suggest that Apple and Samsung have failed to come to a mutual agreement about settling the ongoing patent dispute between the two companies. The CEOs of Samsung and Apple reportedly met in Korea recently behind closed doors to settle this issue, but apparently nothing came out of the crucial meet. The patent dispute between the two companies spans across three years ever since the Galaxy S was launched. The battle has continued until now with Apple adding several other Samsung devices to its list of allegedly infringing devices and Samsung returning the favor.
A court ruling claimed that Samsung will have to pay in excess of $900 million in damages to Apple if it is proven guilty, which could be a major setback for Samsung. The verdict for the dispute will be given out on March 19 by a U.S. court while a European court is expected to give the verdict on the 31st of March. An out of court settlement would have greatly boosted Samsung’s case but with both companies not coming to an agreement, Samsung will now have to rely solely on the court’s decision.
