Alleged lockscreen animation of the Galaxy S5 spotted in a new leak

Galaxy S5 Lockscreen

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is reported to pack a lot of new features, with plenty spoken about its hardware already. A new leak has now shown off one of the most noticeable aspects of the smartphone – the lockscreen animation. This new video leak shows off the alleged lockscreen animation of the Galaxy S5 smartphone on a Galaxy S4 handset.

It is revealed that Samsung could be going for a slightly different approach this time instead of the ripple or lens flare animation seen on the current iteration of TouchWiz. Of course, this could just as easily be a third party lockscreen app, so there’s no way to make sure if this is the real deal. A screenshot showing another lockscreen animation pattern has leaked out, which shows off the flatter UI icons that we’ve heard so much about over the past several weeks.

The Galaxy S5 is rumored to launch in two different display variants, so we might be up for a slightly underwhelming announcement later next week. The smartphone is rumored to launch in a 5.1 inch QHD display variant and a 5.25 inch 1080p display model along with a 16MP camera, 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 805 chipset and Android 4.4 KitKat.
