Acer has just unveiled two new midrange smartphones ahead of the MWC 2014 event which kicks off in Barcelona this Monday. The two smartphones do not come with beefy hardware which means that the pricing will be very competitive. Starting with the smallest of the two, the Liquid Z4 packs a 4 inch 720p display, a 5MP camera which is claimed to be “best in class”, a 1 GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The Liquid E3 on the other hand packs a 4.7 inch 720p IPS display, a 13MP camera with a uniquely designed LED flash, Android 4.2.2, 1GB of RAM, a quad core 1.2 GHz processor and 4GB of internal storage (expandable). While both devices will run Android 4.2 out of the box, Acer has promised to rollout the KitKat update by the end of Q2, which is good news for potential buyers. The Liquid E3 has been priced at €199 ($273) while the Liquid Z4 will cost a meager €99 ($136). The two handsets are expected to arrive in Europe this April, with Acer expected to show off the two smartphones in detail at the MWC event next week.
