Sprint has just launched the Sprint Spark tri-band LTE service in Kansas City. Users of the network using a compatible handset will be able to enjoy faster than usual 4G LTE speeds starting from today. Unfortunately, this is merely the 12th city in the U.S. to get Sprint Spark, so Sprint still has a lot to do as far as the coverage is concerned. We’re guessing Sprint wants to get major cities and regions out of the way before going deeper into the U.S. The carrier plans to get Sprint Spark in over 100 major cities of the country within the next three years.
Users will be able to get up to 60 MBPS of speeds in coverage areas, which is substantially more than regular 4G LTE speeds. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said the following in a statement – “Sprint Spark is a revolutionary combination of capabilities unmatched by any other wireless provider. We plan to bring the most advanced wireless technologies in the world to our hometown.”
