Sprint has just added six new cities to its Sprint Spark coverage areas bringing the total tally to 11. While it’s not a number Sprint would like to brag, it goes without saying that Sprint Spark is certainly on its way for a massive expansion in the coming months.
The new markets include Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio in Texas along with Fort Lauderdale in Florida. For those unaware of Sprint Spark, it basically merges three bands of LTE to give users a combined speed of up to 60Mbps when in the coverage area. But only a handful of devices are compatible with Sprint Spark as it is hardware dependent. Sprint claims that the upcoming LG G Flex handset will be compatible with Sprint Spark.
The carrier also announced a Framily Plan which allows users to add up to 10 people and avail discounts of up to $30 on their monthly bill. Sprint is offering the $55 a month option under the Framily Plan which offers unlimited talk, text and 1GB of data. If users have up to seven lines, the monthly cost comes down to $25 per user, so it’s a good plan for people who have a lot of friends and family members in their circle.
